Justin Bieber Fans Have Turned Away

Bieber
It is no secret that Justin Bieber is not the most constructive celebrity to grace the world’s presence; in fact, the singer’s reputation has been declining faster than most can keep up. From a petition to get him deported, to vocal questioning of whether or not the star gets the justified amount of punishment for his heinous attitude, Bieber’s fans  have rapidly turned away from him in shame.

The devotion of a fan is a hard thing to taint. Many Bieber fans loved him through his first mishaps, with hopeful admiration and naivety that his bad behavior was a phase. Everyone, fans and neutrals alike, now know that Bieber’s seemingly constant shenanigans are not a phase. The 20-year-old entertainer has a knack for disrespecting everyone, authority or not, and a disinterest in keeping fans in love with him. Many fans have lost interest in looking for the good in Bieber, and instead have turned away from him, possibly due to a series of particularly bad episodes.

According to many previous fans, Bieber has some serious character flaws. He disrespected Anne Frank while visiting her former home by writing that he hoped she would have been a “Belieber” had she been alive during his fame. This stunt in particular sparked so much distaste for the star, but it did not end there. Some fans remained after this shameful episode, though more were lost due to ensuing actions.

Bieber has disrespected police officials, whole nations of people and fans looking for a conversation or photo. He was detained for reckless driving while intoxicated and was faced with charges for resisting arrest. The singer very recently negligently congratulated Japanese war criminals by photographing himself in front of a war shrine in Tokyo. Bieber has also been known to completely ignore fans, even if they speak directly at him while sitting next to him. Many tweets aimed at Bieber showcase fans tired of his disrespect and immaturity, as well as once-were fans who cannot understand why the star is still so popular.

Egging a neighbor’s house is not out of line in the eyes of Bieber. The singer recently egged his neighbor’s house with friends and was caught on a surveillance camera celebrating the event. The piling criminal history for the star has made traveling out of the country a headache for himself and his entourage. Bieber was recently held at LAX for his loaded criminal history and should probably get used to such treatment if he plans to continue on harassing the world and breaking the law.

It is not possible to pinpoint one specific incident that has caused many of Bieber’s fans to turn away from supporting him. It is a possibility that many of the people who signed his deportation petition were once devout fans who are tired of his disrespect for just about everything. The majority of Bieber’s recent publicity is negative; though, the singer is still in the spotlight even if it is only highlighting the bad. For many famous people publicity in general is wanted with no specific desire for positive or negative exposure. The star has grown up in the public eye, which is extremely hard for many people. Time will tell if Bieber is a lost cause, or if he just has a huge amount of growing up to do.

An honest kid

AN HONEST KID

Organized youth baseball is all too often ruined by pushy parents and overbearing coaches. But here’s a story to restore one’s faith.

At a T-ball game in Wellington, Fla., earlier this year, first baseman Tanner Munsey, 7, fielded a ground ball and tried to tag a runner going from first base to second. The umpire, Laura Benson, called the runner out, but Tanner immediately approached her and said, “Ma’am, I didn’t tag the runner.” Benson awarded the runner second base and Tanner’s coach gave him the game ball for his honesty.

In a game two weeks later, with Benson again umpiring and Tanner playing shortstop, a similar play occurred. This time Benson thought Tanner had missed the tag on a runner going to third, and she called the runner safe. Tanner glanced at Benson and, without saying a word, flipped the ball to the catcher and returned to his position. Benson sensed something was wrong. “Did you tag the runner?” she asked Tanner.

“Yes,” he replied.

Benson then called the runner out. The opposing coaches protested until she explained what had happened two weeks earlier. Says Benson, “If a kid is that honest, I have to give it to him. T-ball is supposed to be for the kids.”

Homeless Man’s Honesty Pays Back In Spades

By Meera Dolasia on February 22, 2013

On February 9th, 2013, Kansas City resident Sarah Darling was walking along the street when she encountered a homeless man by the name of Billy Ray Harris.Instinctively, she reached into her change purse and emptied out all the coins she had into his collection can. Little did either realize that this small act of generosity, would change their lives forever.

It was not until the following morning that Sarah realized that not only had she given Billy all her change, but also, her platinum and diamond engagement ring that she had placed in her change purse earlier, because it had been bothering her finger. She and her husband Bill Krejci, rushed to the see if they could locate Billy, hoping against hope, that he would confirm her suspicion about where she had misplaced her precious jewelry. Not only was the homeless man in the same spot, he also, immediately returned the ring. The grateful couple paid him back for his honesty by emptying out their pockets of all the cash they had – about $60USD.

However, Bill Krejci, a web designer felt as though he needed to do something more for this amazingly honest man especially, after the story went viral and hundreds of people reached out to see how they could help Billy. So on February 18th, he set up a special page for him on fundraising site Give Forward with a goal of raising $1,000USD in 90 days. In just four days, the donations have ballooned to over $85,000USD and there seems to be no end in sight yet.

If that is not enough, Billy is off the streets and currently living with an unnamedsamaritan. And that’s not all – Thanks to all the media coverage, he was reunited with his older brother, Edwin Harris who he has been unable to locate for 27 years. Not only did the two talk for 45 minutes on the phone, but Edwin is also planning to come get Billy in mid-March and take him to his home in Lubbock,Texas.

All this good fortune just because Billy did the right thing – Return something that did not rightfully belong to him. Honesty is definitely the best policy! If you want to donate some of your allowance to better the life of Billy Ray Harris or just keep up to date with how this heartwarming story ends, check outgiveforward.com/billyray.

Do You Love Yourself? Here are 12 ways to start!

Do You Love Yourself? Here are 12 ways to start!

Louise L. HayDo You Love Yourself

by LOUISE L. HAY

The wonderful adventure of self-love.

I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE IS only one thing that heals every problem, and that is: to love yourself. When people start to love themselves more each day, it’s amazing how their lives get better. They feel better. They get the jobs they want. They have the money they need. Their relationships either improve, or the negative ones dissolve and new ones begin.

Loving yourself is a wonderful adventure; it’s like learning to fly. Imagine if we all had the power to fly at will? How exciting it would be! Let’s begin to love ourselves now.

Here are 12 Commandments to help you learn how to love yourself:

Stop All Criticism.

Criticism never changes a thing. Refuse to criticize yourself. Accept yourself exactly as you are. Everybody changes. When you criticize yourself, your changes are negative. When you approve of yourself, your changes are positive.

Forgive Yourself.

Let the past go. You did the best you could at the time with the understanding, awareness, and knowledge that you had. Now you are growing and changing, and you will live life differently.

Don’t Scare Yourself.

Stop terrorizing yourself with your thoughts. It’s a dreadful way to live. Find a mental image that gives you pleasure, and immediately switch your scary thought to a pleasure thought.

Be Gentle and Kind and Patient.

Be gentle with yourself. Be kind to yourself. Be patient with yourself as you learn the new ways of thinking. Treat yourself as you would someone you really loved.

Be Kind to Your Mind.

Self-hatred is only hating your own thoughts. Don’t hate yourself for having the thoughts. Gently change your thoughts.

Praise Yourself.

Criticism breaks down the inner spirit. Praise builds it up. Praise yourself as much as you can. Tell yourself how well you are doing with every little thing.

Support Yourself.

Find ways to support yourself. Reach out to friends and allow them to help you. It is being strong to ask for help when you need it.

Be Loving to Your Negatives.

Acknowledge that you created them to fulfill a need. Now you are finding new, positive ways to fulfill those needs. So lovingly release the old negative patterns.

Take Care of Your Body.

Learn about nutrition. What kind of fuel does your body need in order to have optimum energy and vitality? Learn about exercise. What kind of exercise do you enjoy? Cherish and revere the temple you live in.

Do Mirror Work.

Look into your eyes often. Express this growing sense of love you have for yourself. Forgive yourself while looking into the mirror. Talk to your parents while looking into the mirror. Forgive them, too. At least once a day, say, “I love you, I really love you!”

Love Yourself . . . Do It Now.

Don’t wait until you get well, or lose the weight, or get the new job, or find the new relationship. Begin now—and do the best you can.

Have Fun.

Remember the things that gave you joy as a child. Incorporate them into your life now. Find a way to have fun with everything you do. Let yourself express the joy of living. Smile. Laugh. Rejoice, and the Universe rejoices with you!

Stand-Up For Kids Visits a Village in Northeast Thailand!

Isaan Children Cheering After a Fun Day:)

Isaan Children Cheering After a Fun Day:)

The wonderful children and me in Mahasarakham Province of Northeast Thailand

The wonderful children and me in Mahasarakham Province of Northeast Thailand

We are off and running in 2013 as Stand-Up For Kids is now in Thailand. Yes, that’s right! I am in Southeast Asia, one of the most enchanting, interesting parts of the world. I’ve come to know quite a bit about Thai culture, traditions, etc. and I have done my fair share of traveling around the “Land of Smiles”. The Thai people have a very lovely disposition. It seems that no matter what part of the country you visit, Thai people make eye contact with you and smile:) It’s rather comforting, if not perplexing, to see an entire nation of people who subscribe to this philosophy that every person with whom they come into contact deserves to see them smile and that every unsuspecting stranger should humbly smile in return. What makes it even more remarkable is that most of the Thai population has a standard of living that is far lower than what we experience in the U.S., yet the street cleaners, day laborers, people pushing rackety food carts, and just about every person you encounter, offers you a smile:)

Thais also love to laugh and get silly. Of course, this is perfectly suited for my personality because my mission in life is to bring laughter and smiles to everyone. After my first trip to Thailand about five years ago, I decided to teach myself to speak Thai so that I could communicate with the locals on subsequent trips, not to mention that I really enjoy learning another language and I thought that it would be fascinating to take up the challenge of learning something with which previously I was completely unfamiliar.

So my language prowess has allowed me to perform in Thailand on many occasions. I’m quite skilled in speaking Thai, and although I am not fluent, I can certainly hold my own. While Central Thai is taught in schools nationwide, about one third of the country’s population lives in the region referred to as Isaan; Generally speaking, Isaan is farmland, rice fields, etc. and the people there live in villages that seem like a trip back in time or something inside of a National Geographic magazine. People in Isaan also speak the Isaan language, which is extremely similar to Laos, the language of the neighboring country, Laos. Needless to say, last weekend when I was cordially invited to visit my friend Keng’s village in Mahasarakham Province in Thailand, I knew that I had my work cut out for me because the village residents normally speak Isaan; While they also speak Thai, I knew that the slang, colloquial language, and idiomatic expressions in Thai that I’m still not familiar with would make things a little more difficult to communicate.

From the moment we arrived at the market at 5 a.m. on Saturday morning, the Isaan people stared at me in amazement because it is very unusual to see an American, or any other “farang” (the term that Thai people use to refer to foreigners) at the market, especially at the crack of dawn. But once I started speaking Thai with the people, it became instantly evident that laughter is universal in any language. Keng and some of her family members and I paced up and down the market aisles, talking and laughing with the vendors and buying insane amounts of exotic Thai fruits, vegetables, fish, and other locally grown products.

Once we returned to the village, the game was on……..Driving down the dirt road that served as the main artery in Keng’s family’s section of the village, scores of children noticed me and began gravitating to Keng’s childhood home. Only one foreigner lives in their village, so my arrival most certainly set off a frenzy of curiosity and excitement. Thai people are naturally very shy, but once you break down that barrier, you’ll find them to be the most engaging, polite, and friendliest people on the face of the planet. So the moment that I began saying hello to the elementary school aged children, I was not surprised that they were afraid to speak to me. Of course, once I turned on the charm and began speaking Thai and making some of the children laugh, the others began slowly gravitating closer and closer to the “performance area”, which at that time was the large area on the side of Keng’s house where everyone assembled to eat the massive amount of food that her family prepared. As a side not, Thai people are obsessed with eating, but I’ll save that topic for another time;)

Soon after I broke into some improvisational English games that included my usual silly antics, the children were fully engaged and asking for more. The intoxicating sound of their innocent laughter fueled me to continue uninterrupted for nearly two hours, until it was time to eat. Following a wonderful meal, I helped several ladies wash dishes in the plastic containers that were situated in the grass near the dining area. I asked the children if they could help transport the dozens upon dozens of dishes to the storage area and they were more than willing to help. Little did they know that once we finished, I would offer to buy them the ice cream of their store at a family owned village “shop” down the main dirt road. As I teach in my show, one must do good things and demonstrate solid character in order to live a fulfilling life. If only you could have seen the caravan of children following me to that shop in anticipation of a delicious dessert that served as a reward for their good deeds. It was truly a priceless scene!

The adults in the village were truly appreciative that I spent most of my time entertaining the children; At one point, during a ceremony that was taking place in the house, the children and I walked through the village to the nearby Buddhist temple, where they took me inside and paid their respects to the giant Buddha statue. The fifteen or twenty kids clung to me as if they were laying claim to their prized possession who had magically appeared in their village that day. We stopped at house after house and I would continue with my antics, much to the delight of the lovely children AND the unsuspecting villagers who were more than happy to see me drop by just to say hello and exchange pleasantries. As the weekend went on, I was continuously reminded of how lucky I am to have a special gift to bring laughter to people everywhere I go. It doesn’t matter where you are, what language you are speaking, whether people are rich or poor, white, black, or any other color for that matter, laughter is truly universal. The poor children of the village that I visited last weekend were begging me to come back at my earliest opportunity. In fact, it was so cute when one little girl asked me if I wanted to marry her older sister and teach English at the local elementary school! I respectfully declined the marriage offer, but I promised the children that I would return again. On Sunday night, as Keng and her two nieces and I were packing the car with our belongings, the children and adults took their turns hugging me and sending all of us on our way back to Bangkok (a six hour drive). As I got into the car, I heard one of the little children say, “We love him.” The truth is that I love them too:) Stand-Up For Kids rolls on…….

Improvisational Stand-Up Routine Dazzles the Audience!

I was  performing at a school last month and suddenly, I broke into an improvisational routine about runway models and Barbie.  Over the years, I have often done this on stage, both during my kids show and my adult show.  I love to perform my classic routines, but I also enjoy the freedom that I have on stage that allows me to do “stream of consciousness” stand-up.  It brings out so much of my energy and inner thoughts and it is so wonderful for the creative process.  In fact, many of the funny, insane thoughts that I have on a daily basis swirl around in my head and I subconsciously write routines on a daily basis.  The moment of truth arrives when something bothers me enough to the point that I have to “unleash” it on stage and usually those moments are purely magical.  They are unadulterated, uninhibited, and very much like a train running off the tracks.  Those stretches on stage are high-powered, electrifying, and without any kind of comedic boundaries in the sense that, unlike tried and tested comedy routines, there is not a planned beginning, middle, and end.  The routine has been written in my head and now it is simply my vocal cords and physicality that take over.  So, enjoy this brief glimpse into my heart, mind, and comedy soul.  The children sure did!  Bye for now…….:)

Hello Everyone!

I apologize for not posting in a while, however, I have had so many tour dates, interviews, etc., not to mention that I was spending time with my mom and she is my biggest fan and the one person I absolutely love and cherish:)  At any rate, I have been having an absolute blast entertaining kids all over America and as my stand-up show takes each school by storm, more and more people have been asking me (in some cases, begging me) to post some videos on Youtube.  So, without further delay, I am here to announce the first few Stand-Up For Kids video clips that I’ve just uploaded on my Youtube channel.  Here are the links:

Enjoy the performances and thank you for your love and support as I continue my quest to take this show to the masses!

Sincerely,

Michael:)
